OpenGL SDL Programmer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an OpenGL SDL Programmer on a 4 month engagement. The programmer will implement and maintain rendering features using OpenGL and SDL, ensuring compatibility and performance across targeted platforms. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, efficient C/C++ code, integrating platform-specific APIs, handling input, windowing, and audio via SDL, and debugging graphics and performance issues. The role involves collaborating with other engineers to adapt existing engines for console environments, profiling and optimizing code paths, and documenting technical decisions and implementation details. The programmer will also participate in code reviews, follow established development workflows, and contribute to build and deployment processes for multiple platforms. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems concepts. Experience with OpenGL and SDL, including rendering pipelines, input handling, window management, and cross-platform considerations. Proficiency in C/C++ Experience with version control and collaborative workflows. Familiarity with game development workflows, engines, or tools; experience with console development or porting is an advantage. Ability to diagnose and optimize performance issues using profilers, logs, and debugging tools. Comfortable working remotely, with effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across time zones.
