About Autonomica
Autonomica is an open-world survival, farming, and automation game currently in development for PC.
Players explore a seamless world, build and automate production systems, farm and develop resources, restore abandoned infrastructure, and uncover the story behind a failed scientific operation involving temporal anomalies.
The game combines survival, sandbox building, farming, factory automation, exploration, and cooperative multiplayer.
We are looking for an experienced QA Tester to help us test increasingly complex and interconnected gameplay systems as the project grows.
About the Role
This is a full-time remote position for someone with professional QA experience who enjoys digging into complex systems, reproducing difficult issues, and helping developers turn problems into clear, actionable tasks.
We are not looking for someone who simply plays the game and reports that something is broken. We need someone who investigates why it broke, under what conditions, and how reliably it can be reproduced.
What We're Looking For
Professional experience in game QA or software QA
Ability to write clear, concise, and reproducible bug reports
Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking systems
Experience with Plastic SCM, Git, Perforce, SVN, or another version control system
Fluent written and spoken English
Experience working remotely with distributed teams
A strong candidate should naturally investigate questions such as:
Does the issue reproduce from a fresh save?
Does it reproduce from an existing save?
Does it happen in sandbox mode?
Is it present on another branch?
Does it reproduce on the latest main branch?
What is the smallest possible setup that still causes the problem?
Bug Investigation
You should be comfortable collecting everything developers need to investigate an issue:
Clear reproduction steps
Save files
Screenshots and videos
Logs
Build and branch information
Hardware specifications when relevant
You should understand reproducibility, regression risk, and how to isolate the conditions required for a bug to occur.
Testing Experience
We are looking for experience with:
Initial build verification
Regression testing
Exploratory testing
Feature verification
Systematic checklist-driven testing
Testing complete gameplay loops before releases
Community and Player Reports
Part of the role involves investigating issues reported by players.
You should be comfortable taking an incomplete or unclear player report, asking the right questions, reproducing the issue, and turning it into a useful development task.
Experience communicating professionally with players and gaming communities is a strong advantage.
Nice to Have
Experience testing Unity games
Experience with survival, sandbox, simulation, or automation games
Multiplayer testing experience
Performance testing experience
Hardware compatibility testing
General understanding of game development workflows
Conditions
Remote, full-time position
Working schedule aligned around UTC-3
$1,000-$2,000 USD per month depending on experience and availability
Stable, long-term work on Autonomica
Paid time off after 6 months
Compensation reviews as the project develops and your responsibilities grow
We are looking for someone methodical, analytical, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of their work. If your first reaction to a bug is: “Can I reproduce this? Under what conditions? What is the smallest setup that still fails?”, you will probably fit the role well.
